BEATRIXJANE || 1 JUNE 2014 || ISSUE I

Hello Daisies! Beatrix here.
Writing is very important, and so is drawing. The two are very similar, and so today I have an article written by Miss Saskia Keultjes, an amazing role model, blogger, and artist on how to start a sketch book!
~Beatrix

What to put in a sketchbook for beginners
Your sketchbook is a secret place
A sketchbook is very useful for everyone, especially for artists, students and kids. It boosts your creativity. To achieve that, use your sketchbook like a journal; make it a secret place. It’s very important to work freely inside it. Make sure you carry it everywhere.
Sketchbook supplies:

something to draw
glue or stickers
scissors
foldback clips, paper clips, staples
different kinds of other paper
sticky notes
How to start a new sketchbook:
start now
make a personal cover
don’t start at page one
destroy it’s beauty for example with a crappy drawing
or use the following tips
Some topics for your sketchbook:

thoughts
shopping list
feelings
phonenumbers
recipes
mood
photography
problems
to do lists

Writing: Why it's Important

DIAMOND DREAMS || JUNE 1ST || ISSUE I

Hi daisies! DiamondDreams here.

I'm one of the new managers here at the Daisy Chain! I can't wait to work with you all! For my first Blog post, I will be talking to you about writing and how important it is.

Writing is so important in our everyday lives. We use it every day without knowing.

Do you keep a personal diary to record your daily lives, stories, etc? I recommend keeping a diary because it's a great way to discover yourself. Writing also allows us to reflect on our lives and express our feelings, and it makes our unique voice heard. Blogging is great, too! However, don't spend to much time on your computer; it's healthier and more educational to write your thoughts out on paper.

The Daisy Chain is great way to reach out to people and have a voice! You can also share tips for writing and blogging, gain tips for your writing, participate in contests, and make friends who love writing as much as you. Want more writing clubs? Check out roleplay clubs, such as GlamourAcademy if you are older, and Hogwarts if you are younger, and write stories! Or, check out the Stardoll clubs book.dolls and Starbloggerz.

That's all for today! Bye for now, daisies, and never put down the pen!

~DiamondDreams.

Going Green

MISSCAMP1234 || 1 JUNE 2014 || ISSUE I
Hello daises! It's Elle! :)

This week's post is on helping the enviornment. Helping the enviornment is important to me, and hopefully to you, too!

The main thing is to use the three r's: recycle, reuse, and reduce!
-Recycling is where you throw away something but then is converted to something that can be reused! You can recycle plastic, glass, maybe some batteries, etc.!
-Reusing is where you use something again even if it is worn out! Some things you can reuse are carrier bags (the plastic bags that you get at stores), old clothes (you can use them to mop up the floors when you are washing the floors), jars and pots (you can make pencil cases, store anything, etc.) and much more!
-Reducing is when you have an amount of something and then it gets smaller. In this case, you are reducing how much you use every day. In order for you to reduce the amount of waste you produce you should try these: when you are at the supermarket buy only what you need, buy items that can be later recycled (the plastic bottle of milk, orange juice, etc.), reduce the amount of paper used in the world (use less paper overall and you can cancel any orders in the mail that you do not want) and much more.

I really hope this gave you an idea on how you can help the environment especially by using the three r's: recycle, reuse, and reduce! Have a great day, thank you for reading!
~Elle
